The 30 Millions d’Amis de la Tuilerie shelter (77) is facing its first summer departure. Raïka was dropped off at her master’s shelter a few days ago. The reason? Vacation… As every summer, the 30 Million Friends Foundation warns of multiple drop-outs with amazing consequences and reminds us that it’s possible-and easy! – on vacation with his partner.
Within hours, Raïka’s life changed. He was abandoned by his master at the 30 Millions d’Amis de La Tuilerie refuge in Saint-Hilliers (77). In a video the man sent to the 30 Million Friends Foundation, the images show a happy and obviously loved dog, playing ball in the open air. A sudden joy …
Abandoned in the shelter … because of vacation
Raïka’s owner explained to our teams that he could no longer take care of his dog… because of his vacation! The poor survivor remained lying for three days in his box, trembling and appearing to have been traumatized by the situation. But thanks to our teams, he’s better now. Now reassured and energized, she is waiting for a loving family and, this time… for life!
By choosing to take her dog to the shelter, Raïka’s owner has – at the very least – given her the very best chance of being adopted by a loving family. ” Even if you no longer want your partner, at least have the courage to take on your job of bringing someone who has been a part of your life to a shelter.pleaded with the President of the 30 Million Friends Foundation, Reha Hutin. That way, you can inform caregivers of all the important animal information that will facilitate its adoption in the future. Those who, despite this warning, risk abandoning their animal are liable to 3 years in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros under the law of November 30, 2021 aimed at combating animal abuse (compare to 2 years imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 euros previously.). The penalty was increased to 4 years in prison and a fine of 60,000 euros once left on the public highway, which now consists of a worsening situation.
Thousands of dogs and cats are abandoned each summer
Even if you don’t want your partner anymore, and at least have the courage to take him or her to a shelter.

Abandonment of the public road represents an imminent danger to the life of the animal, which is especially dangerous to be struck by a car. If taken by the pound, the poor animal is also at risk of euthanasia, if it is not claimed by its owner within the legal period of 8 working days or is not collected at a residence.
If the law allows dwellings to collect this residue, in practice, most establishments are already saturated. Faced with many abandonments that precede the summer season, these grief structures cannot accommodate all the thousands of animals in distress.
Vacationing with your pet is easy!
The 30 Million Friends Foundation keeps reminding us: it’s possible to spend happy and peaceful holidays with your pet! Its 100% digital and free platform “nosvacancesentreamis.com” lists all the advice and “animal friendly” addresses that are useful to holidaymakers. Some owners understand this very well by sharing their most beautiful engagement moments on social networks via #vacancesentreamis. And those who can’t leave with their pet even have access to a list of pensions selected by Le Petit Futé®. So, this summer, say #NONALABANDON.
