A few years ago, I personally added sugar, jam or ketchup to almost everything I ate. The problem is that sugar calls for sugar, so the more we eat, the more we want to eat as the day goes on, which pushes us to consume more sugar.

A simple teaspoon of ketchup contains 4 grams of sugar, but it is recommended not to exceed 25 grams of extra sugar per day for a woman.
In other words, by adding a small amount of ketchup to your plate, you are eating a fifth of your daily sugar intake!
To avoid eating ketchup, consider cherry tomatoes, tomato coulis or a homemade tomato sauce without added sugar. This will allow you to enjoy the same taste while limiting your sugar intake.
Avoid fruit yogurts
I love fruit yogurts. The only problem is that most flavored yogurts have 14-22 grams of sugar in just one tub of yogurt.
And that also has to do with organic yogurts: so it’s not because a food is organic, gluten -free, GMO -free, has no artificial flavors and has no preservatives that it’s good for your health or for your number.
That way, you can enjoy the taste of your favorite yogurts without filling in extra sugar.
Just place fresh or frozen fruit (banana, strawberry, raspberry, mango, etc.) in a bowl, pour the sugar -free yogurt on top and enjoy.
You can also add cinnamon, rolled oats or chia seeds on top for more flavor and texture.
The advantage is that this way, you get a gourmet yoghurt, which has exactly the taste you want but no added sugar.
Focus on good fats
You might think that replacing sugar with fat is just something not to do. However, eating lots of good fats can help you stop the bad habit of eating a lot of sugar.
You wonder why? This is simply because foods high in good fats are more likely to meet your daily needs, thus reducing your cravings.
Focus on high fat foods monounsaturated fats such as those found in olive oil or avocado or polyunsaturated fat sources such as salmon, walnuts or flax seeds, make you less hungry at snack time around fifteen or four o’clock.
In any case, that’s what I’m used to doing, and it’s radical: I’m less hungry, and so I eat less sugar every day.
And the last thing: if I eat at a restaurant with friends, I order a dessert. And I enjoyed it. And I even scraped my plate with my spoon to get the little chocolate sauce. And then I try to limit sugary foods to subsequent meals.
It allows me to have fun when I really want to while avoiding the bad habit of eating too much sugar at every meal.
